Style

Made from one and half inch thick laminate birds eye maple panels for their superior accoustics, and soft appearance. The electronics are self contained in the cabinet making for a very clean setup with a single power cable to each speaker.

Sound

These speakers are fairly directional with a tight sweet spot and thus best suited for monitor purposes. To that end they are calibrated to a flat amplitude response from 30hz to 30khz.

Digital

To deliver a system response that is flat, in phase, and free of distortion I use four channels of amplification and a digital crossover. Apt-X bluetooth modules in each case enable a wireless experince without sacraficing quality.

There is no Replacement for Displacement

With every sound system there are trade-offs, this one is size, these speakers are BIG at 4 feet tall. While venting a bass enclosure enables deeper extention with less physical space required it does so at the invisible tax of group delay (a form of transient response distortion). This speaker uses an 18 inch woofer in a sealed enclosure for the simplest path to high fidelity and a 8ms response at 20hz (vented systems are typically well over 20ms making the bass "mushy").

Active Crossover

The use of an active crossover greatly simplifies design of the system and allows larger flexibility in driver choice and crossover point so that no compromises have to made in those critical elements. There is also the huge benefit of having the driver directly coupled to the amplifiers, in fact the bass driver is so strongly coupled that when the system is on the front cone is almost immovable where as when off it gives way to a light touch.
